Seagate External Hard Drive Light On But Not Working


This is the first harddrive problem I've had, so I wasn't careful enough to make any backups. only way to know is to get another usb adapter or stick it in a machine and test. Then click on Disk Management. I've had this drive for about a year and a half now. his comment is here

I have a good deal of files stored in it. Thanks for stopping by.My apologies, I didn't have a screen capture video program at this time so i had to record the process on my Sony Cybershot (16.2mp). I would try plugging it back in to the computer and right clicking on Computer (My Computer on WinXP) and selecting Manage. I unplugged it without "removing it safely" (yes I know this is probably where the trouble it) and now I can't find anything. This should show you if the drive is truly readable. I even tried replacing the cables to them incase they'd got too bent or something.
