Does it "show the presence" of the card reader? (should be under "USB") If it doesn't "show", could be something wrong, either hardware, or the OSX software that controls the hardware. That alone seems to point to a software/firmware issue versus a hardware issue. Or something.Is it still possible that the internal switch was still not properlly reset, even if it hadn't been used?Honsestly, I'd give it a shot regardless.
