It determines the maximum amount of your available bandwidth that your viewer will use for basic functions like handling object/avatar shapes and texture, motion, communication, etc. The NHC TV is currently dead on all CEF based viewers - that's for a different reason & it can only be fixed by the creator (details on https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/BUG-11485). Is it flash or quicktime, html5 or something else? As far as I'm aware, there is no "QuickTime Alternative"… Also to note - TV creators using flash media really need to stop using this too. The media links the NHC TV uses will not work on Chrome web browser either. Kudos for your staff, and thank you for addressing this in your blog.
